Amanda West

My Grandmother was a painter and my mother was very creative, artistically too, so I guess that enjoying art was something that I couldn’t help. I studied fine art and fashion and textiles, at college in Gloucester.

In 1997 I met Alan and he offered me a tattoo apprenticeship, which I accepted and by 1998 I was tattooing full time, at Alzone and have been working there ever since.

My work is mostly combinations of semi realistic images and hand drawn things. I enjoy both, either together or separately. It makes me a fairly versatile artist and I enjoy working with colour or black and grey.

It’s important to me, to keep working with other artists. I enjoy the few conventions that I work at and am looking forward to taking up the offers of guest spots, that I’ve had. Working with others is always so beneficial and fun.
